Lagos -The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has ordered radio stations to call off the ban on Nigerian musicians affiliated with the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), reports Daily Post.There has been an ongoing ‘war’ between COSON and the Broadcast Organistion of Nigeria (BON) over compensation of intellectual property.
BON accuse COSON of charges fees which do not follow any verifiable tariff or standards. NBC in a statement said that all payments of musical copyright royalties shall be made to COSON, and that a committee made up of the different stakeholders will be set up to review all royalty tariffs and ensure they are fair, reasonable and according to standards.
