Much Ado about Billionaire Femi Otedola's 'cheap' mobile phones

Femi Otedola (1)

The phones of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, whose father (Sir Michael Agbolade Otedola) was honoured with a fabulous funeral weekends ago, have been the objects of attention.
According to Encomium, those familiar with mobile phones claim the mogul, who’s President of Forte Oil, enjoys inexpensive phones, with one of them costing less than N5,000!
One of the phones Nokia 6230 can be bought for about N5,000! And the other, Nokia e50, as shown in the pictures, retails for about N7,000.

The cost of the phones of the money man who’s one of Nigeria’s richest is titillating many observers.
Many applaud the choice of inexpensive phones, saluting the 49 year-old Lagos-born magnate as prudent and simple.

But some are saying that the billionaire could do better by using modern and expensive phones since he can easily afford it.  Aficionados believe Otedola could well afford aVertu (which cost over N1 million)! However, since the pictures don’t actually show the ‘face’ of the phone, they might be ‘coded’ (and very expensive).

Otedola, a stylish man who adorns only whitebuba and sokoto brocade to official and social functions in Nigeria, has a magnificent house in Ikoyi (Lagos) valued at billions of Naira.
His Knightsbridge flat, London (the United Kingdom), is a statement in opulence.
Lover of Mercedes Benz vehicles, he also parades a luxury yacht anchored in front ofZenon Place, Walter Carrington, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Jim Iyke plays SMART when asked about his affair with Nadia Buari and T.B Joshua in new interview

Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke recently had a chat with Emma Emerson of Golden Icons where they discussed a range of issues that has never been shared with the public media.
jim
In the 90 minute long interview the actor took his time to respond to the questions thrown at him including some personal issues such as the loss of his mum, his engagement to Ghanaian actress Nadia Buari, the spiritual ‘deliverance’ at Prophet T.B Joshua’s Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN),  breakup with ex-fiance Keturah Hamilton, and of-course, his reality TV show.
The video was long but here are some quick points I could transcribe!

When asked to talk about his ex-girlfriend, Kenturah Hamilton and their nasty break up, he said "Kenturah was amazing....everything she said against me was out of emotion...she said it out of emotion, she didn't mean it cos we lived well. I could control my mouth and emotions, that's why I ddn't say a word to the media about it but she couldn't and i don't blame her for that. In time wounds heal,  you wuld realize that some people r not meant to be in your life....but the truth is, my history will never be complete without her. "

On TB Joshua deliverance "You know they said he paid me N50million for that, may be they are right, it could be that that was happened or on the other hand, maybe I was really delivered, so it's left for them (Nigerians) to decide what to believe.

On if Nadia forced him to attend TB Joshua's church: "That's d dumbest notion i have heard all my life...that Nadia sent me to his church...why would  a normal man agree to let his woman's pastor lay his hand on him, come on...but then again, it's left to them to decide what to believe."

Engagement to Nadia Buari "People say it's a gimmick to sell my reality show, well it could be true, and some say I can't spend that much on a ring, well they could be right or maybe I really engaged to her because she is outstanding, who knows...the only two people that know the truth - Nadia and me. If I say yes the engagement is real, people will still attack me and say it is a lie and if i say no, another set of people will still talk so let them keep talking. We are both actors. "

Jennifer Lopez reportedly asked advice from her ex-husband before she split from Casper Smart

Jennifer Lopez reportedly sought advice from ex-husband Marc Anthony before splitting with Casper Smart.

The 44-year-old singer allegedly turned to the actor, 45, with whom she has six-year-old twins Max and Emme, before she decided to call time on her two-and-a-half-year relationship with the 27-year-old dancer earlier this month.

A source told E! News: "One person she got advice from is her ex Marc (...) He's been supportive and great through this all."

However, despite their split, the On The Floor hitmaker is determined to stay friends with the choreographer as her kids have developed a bond with him.

The source explained: "She will definitely still keep things civil and actually still loves him. The hard part is the kids love him too. He has become a part of her family.

"It's not going to be one of those breakups where you never see them together again."

Meanwhile, in recent weeks, Casper has been accused of cheating on the star with transsexual bikini model Sofie Vissa, whom he met and exchanged sexual messages with online first.

However, Casper has denied the allegations and subsequent claims involving a second transgender model.

The former couple were first linked together in November 2011, just a few months after the singer split from Marc.

APC not deterred by Edo defections

Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, accused some members of the State House of Assembly who recently defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of collecting N50 million each from the ruling party.

Addressing youths during a peaceful protest to the Government House, he said government was undisturbed with the "shenanigans" of the defected lawmakers.

“I thank you for recognizing that we all went round to campaign for these people who have decided to sell their mandate for Naira and kobo. What is sickening is that they are young men who should be anxious to break from the past.

“However because they believed they do not have any chance of being re-elected in February next year, because they have either done two terms or because of their poor performance, they know their constituency will not re-nominate them, they now decided to benefit from the desperation in different parts of the country to sell their mandate for N50 million each," Oshiomhole said.

He alleged the defectors collected advance payment of N35 million and some were buying new vehicles and others are rebuilding their hotels.

"Suddenly money is flowing," he said.

The Governor said there was no cause for alarm because many of the defected lawmakers could not win election on their own merit in their own booth.

“They were voted for as ACN with the broom. If you were vote for as ACN, with the broom, how can you now go and replace it with an umbrella that is torn and abandoned. People with little minds will think that they can sell their constituents with thirty-five million or fifty million depending on when they will get their balance."

He added," As far as I am concerned, we are stronger. Edo politics will be cleaned up and the cleaning is already here” he said.

PDP and APC have both been hit by defections ahead of the next general election
