Olamide blasts musicians for segregation

Rapper, Olamide on Wednesday blasted some Nigerian artists who form cliques and look down on others.

Olamide expressed his disdain in a humourous way on Instagram, accusing artists of forming circus at events.

“The look on my face when I am  at an event and I see musicians forming circus .. Island circus and mainland circus.I just  cack(sit) where normal people sit .. To whom it may concern” he wrote on Instagram

He also advised people never to look down on anyone.

"Rich or poor. We are one my people. Don't let anybody oppress you. all na leg over.Make dem go buga dangote," he wrote in another Instagram update.


D’Banj becomes Heritage Bank ambassador

Music star D’Banj has become a brand ambassador of Heritage Bank, according to his manager Tony Nwankalor on Instagram.

The kokomaster signed the contract on his birthday, which was on June 9.

Dbanj is the Nigeria’s first United Nations Youth Ambassador for Peace, and ONE campaign ambassador.


Rita Dominic’s film clinches award at Nollywood week in Paris

Rita Dominic’s The Meeting had to fly past the highly acclaimed Biyi Bamdele’s Half Of a Yellow Sun to win the ‘People’s Choice‘ Award at the just concluded Nollywood Week held in  Paris, France.

As part of the incentives for winning the award, the film will be shown at the 2015 African Culture Festival.

Other films that were nominated included, Ashionye Raccah’s Journey To Self and Michelle Bello’s Flower Girl

Phyno and Flavour shoot video for Authe

Phyno and Flavour have taken advantage of the trip to Durban, South Africa for the MTV African Music Awards(MAMA), to shoot the video of Phyno’s Authe(Authetntic) single featuring Flavour.

The song is off Phyno’s debut album No Guts No Glory, which came out in the first quarter of 2014.

The video shoot in Durban comes just days after Flavour won Best Live Act at the  2014 MAMA.
