Wande Coal, Wizkid to perform at NUGA closing ceremony


The closing ceremony of the ongoing 24th Nigerian University Games (NUGA) held at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, will feature performances from Wande Coal and Wizkid, PM News reports.

The closing ceremony tagged, the Diamond S.W.A.G Account Concert, will take place on Saturday.

Ayona Trimnell, Head of Corporate Communications at Diamond Bank plc, said the concert is a good way to round up 10 days of sporting activities.

SSS Detains Sanusi, Passport Seized In Lagos


Suspended Governor of CBN, Mallam Sanusi Lamido has vowed to release more facts about monumental stealing of Nigeria's oil money. Sanusi have told a few persons close to him that what he discovered recently is "outright stealing of oil money".

And to keep him shut, the Presidency is said to be deploying all tactics at its disposal to intimidate him so as to remain silent. SSS operations have already seized his travelling documents immediately he arrived Lagos from Niger Republic, where he had gone for an official assignment.

Shortly after his plane landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, he was accosted by SSS operatives who detained him and insisted they must take his passport on orders from above...

They also insisted that he would not be allowed to leave the airport until the Lagos State Director of the SSS is present to give a directive. Calls were made and he was later released but they still took his passport.

Sanusi said his evidences against those managing the NNPC and the Oga at the Top have been spread to many parts of Nigeria, so searching his house or office will not stop him from exposing the truth.

Charly Boy pleads with fans to pray for his father’s health


Maverick entertainer and self-acclaimed area father of all the motorcycle riders in Lagos, Charly Boy, has asked Nigerians to pray for his father amidst his worsening health condition, reports Daily Post.

Renowned Justice Chukwudifu Oputa suffered a partial stroke and was rushed to the hospital in Enugu on Valentine’s Day.

Charly Boy, whose real name is Charles Oputa, announced this sad development on his Twitter page.


My Daddy is in the hospital, I need you guys prayers. It's a shame that the respect that men of integrity deserves goes to the thieves.


Justice Oputa is best known for the famous, televised  “Oputa Panel” that was set up to investigate human right abuses perpetrated during the last 15 years of military rule in Nigeria.

Wizkid hits one million followers on Twitter


It is official - Wizkid has become the first musician to hit one million followers on Twitter - according to Nigerian Entertainment Today (NET).

The popular musician made it to one million on Wednesday.

The Starboy/EME act now moves ahead of the celebrity pack with one million followers on Twitter and over 150 000 followers on Instagram.

Wizkid joined Twitter in the last quarter of 2009.
