Kanye West’s Alleged Attack: He Was ‘Defending’ Kim Kardashian
Kanye would do anything to protect his beloved fiance, Kim Kardashian — and that includes allegedly punching a teenager in the face. Kanye’s alleged Jan. 13 attack on the teen may seem out of line but he swears it was strictly an act of ‘self defense.
TheYeezus artist could be facing legal action after he allegedly attacked an 18-year-old man who hurled a series of racial slurs at Kim Kardashian inside a Beverly Hills, Calif. medical building. But Kanye is telling friends that he was 100 percent right for coming to “his girl’s” defense.
Kanye texted shortly after the incident, saying, “Yeah, it’s another day defending my girl.”
Kim was swarmed by the paparazzi when she tried to walk into a Beverly Hills medical facility for an appointment, and the 18-year-old teen claimed he was just trying to help her by yelling at the photogs and using the N word!
Kim, who’s CLEARLY in a relationship with a black man, politely asked the man to stop using that word out of respect for her and her family but that only made things worse. The man shockingly started yelling at Kim, saying, “F**k you b***h. Just trying to help you. Shut up n****r lover, stupid sl*t.”
Poor Kim!
Sack Me If You Can, PDP Chairman Bamanga Tukur Dares President Jonathan .
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, has challenged President Goodluck Jonathan to remove him from office if he can.
Tukur's outburst followed the refusal of members of the party's National Working Committee to attend a meeting he called at the party's secretariat in Abuja last Wednesday.
The Adamawa State born politician, who is growing isolated at the top levels of the party where he is being held responsible for its dwindling influence and the defection of members, was infuriated by the attitude of his fellow national officers.
He told reporters that he can only be removed from office through a properly conducted National Convention and that unless and until that takes place, nobody, including President Jonathan can remove him.
The National Chairman also dismissed the allegation that he has been asked to resign by the President, and accused the opposition of planting the story to create disharmony in the party.
"I am an elected National Chairman, I have my certificate of return, I cannot resign," he bragged. "The convention brought me, so it has to take the convention that brought me for me to resign. So, not even the President can ask me to resign. Remember, some members of the NWC were asked to go recently because the election that brought them was flawed, so Mr. President cannot tread that route again."

US slams Nigeria for same-sex marriage ban.
The United States on Monday criticized Nigeria for approving a law that punishes same-sex marriage with prison, saying the move would curtail basic human rights.
Secretary of State John Kerry said the United States was “deeply concerned” by Nigeria’s new law which “dangerously restricts freedom of assembly, association and expression for all Nigerians.”Kerry said the act “is inconsistent with Nigeria’s international legal obligations and undermines the democratic reforms and human rights protections enshrined in its 1999 constitution.”
“People everywhere deserve to live in freedom and equality. No one should face violence or discrimination for who they are or who they love,” Kerry said in a statement.
Under the new law, anyone in a same-sex marriage or union would face up to 14 years in prison, with such partnerships reached overseas considered void in Nigeria.
President Goodluck Jonathan signed the law because he considered it consistent with most Nigerians’ views toward homosexuality, his spokesman, Reuben Abati, told AFP.
The United States has generally warm relations with Nigeria but President Barack Obama’s administration has increasingly put a priority on fighting for gay rights overseas.
In Uganda, President Yoweri Museveni has said that he will not rush into signing a law under which gays would be jailed after criticism from Obama, Nobel laureate Desmond Tutu and other global figures.(AFP)
Ronaldo is World Footballer of the Year
Real Madrid and Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo has won the FIFA Ballon d’Or award for player of the year.
Ronaldo scored a staggering 69 goals in 59 matches for club and country in 2013 and was hot favourite to lift the prestigious award he last held in 2008, reports Sky Sports.
Barcelona and Argentina’s Lionel Messi has claimed the honour over the past four years but had to make way for his La Liga rival, despite his 43 goals in as many matches last year.
Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery, who helped his side win the treble of Champions League, Bundesliga and German Cup, was the other player in the running but the France international was also to be disappointed.
But from the Nigerian side, it was not all smooth sail for Ronaldo as he did not receive any vote from the three Nigerian voters. Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi who backed Mikel Obi for the African Footballer of the Year award ironically voted Yaya Toure for the world event. Yaya could not make it to the last stage. His Super Eagles captain Vincent Enyeama voted for Lionel Messi while Nigeria’s media representative Samm Audu also picked Messi.
After picking up the award, a tearful Ronaldo said, “I have to say thank you to all of my team-mates for my club Real Madrid and the national team.“Without their efforts it wouldn’t have been possible. I’m very happy. I have to thank everyone who have been involved with me. It’s a tremendously emotional moment.”
The world star got instant congratulatory messages from across the world especially through Twitter.
Jay Jay Okocha twitted, “CR7 finally…The right player won. Congratulations to new Ballon D’or winner. you really worked hard for it..even though!!!

President Jonathan Signs Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Bill into Law
In spite of protests from some countries, groups and activists President Goodluck Jonathan has signed into law the Bill which outlaws same sex marriage.
The assent to the bill was devoid of fanfare to reduce diplomatic tension, which it may likely attract. Some foreign embassies were shocked by the development leading to 'curious' inquiries from the Federal Government.
Despite the inquiries, the Federal Government said there was no going back. The signed bill says the gays, lesbians in Nigeria will risk a 14-year jail term if they do not retrace their steps and renounce such marriage.
Also, any person who operates or participates in gay clubs, societies and organizations directly or indirectly will earn 10-year imprisonment. Those who administer witness, abet or aid the solemnisation of a same sex marriage are going to bag 10-year jail term.
The Senate previously passed the bill in November 2011. Lawmakers in Nigeria's house of representatives affirmed the decision by the Senate on May 29, 2013.The President assented to the Act last week, on January 7, 2014, but the details on this action have just leaked the web.
"I certify that this Bill has been carefully compared by me with the decision reached by the National Assembly and found by me to be true and correct decision of the Houses and is in accordance with the provisions of the Acts Authentication Act Cap. A2, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004. I assent," The assent note read."
The President has signed the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Bill into law. This has foreclosed any pressure on President Jonathan not to assent to the bill.
"We received inquiries from some foreign embassies on why the bill was signed into law. But we told them that our cultural values do not tolerate same sex marriage."
Also, we made it clear that since most Nigerians were opposed to the bill, the parliament acted in line with the wish of the majority. We are in a democratic setting, the President has no choice than to bow to the wish of the people.
"These embassies were shocked but there is no going back. We hope they will also abide by the decision of Nigerians," a source close the President revealed.
According to some abstracts, obtained by The Nation, the Act reads:
"A marriage contract or civil union entered into between persons of same sex: (a) is prohibited in Nigeria; and (b) shall not be recognized as entitled to the benefits of a valid marriage."
A marriage contract or civil union entered into between persons of same sex by virtue of a certificate issued by a foreign country is void in Nigeria, and any benefit accruing there-from by virtue of the certificate shall not be enforced by any court of law."

The registration of gay clubs, societies and organizations, their sustenance, processions and meetings is prohibited."The public show of same sex amorous relationship directly or indirectly is prohibited."
The Act also stipulates the volume of the sanctions awaiting the violators of the new law.

According to some sources, hours after policemen shot a serving senator, Magnus Abe after he tried to stop them from disrupting a pro-APC rally in Port Harcourt, education minister, Nyesom Wike who allegedly is the mastermind behind the attack has fled the state through Bayelsa.
According to sources, Nyesom Wike, apparently scared of a reprisal attack, could not make it to the Airport as he drove out of Port Harcourt through the East-West road leading to Bayelsa State.
Wike is believed to have worked with Joseph Mbu, the now notorious commissioner of police in Rivers to disrupt the rally and possibly shoot at one who tried to stop them.

See What Pope Francis Has To Say About Abortion
Pope Francis, whom conservatives in the Roman Catholic Church have accused of not speaking out forcefully enough against abortion, on Monday called the practice "horrific".
The pope made his toughest remarks to date on abortion in his yearly address to diplomats accredited to the Vatican, a speech known as his "State of the World" address."It is horrific even to think that there are children, victims of abortion, who will never see the light of day," he said in a section of the speech about the rights of children around the world.
Since his election in March, the pope, while showing no signs of changing the Church's position against abortion, has not spoken out against it as sternly or as repeatedly as his predecessors Pope Benedict XVI and the late John Paul II.
Both of those popes often delivered sermons against abortion, which the Church considers murder.Conservatives in the Church were alarmed when Francis, in a landmark interview in September with the Italian Jesuit magazine Civilta Cattolica, said the Church must shake off an "obsession" with teachings on abortion, contraception and homosexuality.
His stance favoring mercy over condemnation has disoriented conservative Catholics, notably in rich countries such as the United States, where the Catholic Church has become polarized on issues such as abortion.Last year, Bishop Thomas J. Tobin of Providence, Rhode Island, spoke for many conservative Catholics when he said he was disappointed that the pope had not addressed "the evil of abortion" more directly.
Conservative Catholic websites have criticized the pope in the past months for what they called his silence on abortion.

AfroCandy’s Movie Not Selling As Expected! Blasts Marketers
AfroCandy is such an honest person. Her movie, Destructive Instinct is not selling as expected because marketers have increased the price. Instead of selling it N300, they sell it between N500- N1000.
Meanwhile, Candy wants every Nigerian to have a copy of it, because of what she did in it, lol. So she announced on Facebook that they shouldn’t buy it more than N300. She’s even fighting the marketers right now and said she will bring in her team from the US for her next movie. Oh well..
Her words;
Why are Nigerian Marketers too Greedy? Guys pls Do not Buy the Movie Destructive Instinct if the price is more than #300 cos I did not discuss that with the marketers they just wanna rip where they did not sow and it’s not fare.
How can they be selling my Movie for #500, #700, #1000 that’s crazy. I made sure it would be cheap and available for all my Fans in Nigeria to be able to afford it so why the hike in price?
Leave it for them let them eat it. They’ve really thought me a big lesson now that I know Nigeria is ready for me, I will bring in my foreign Partners and let’s do this motherf*cker. They will never smell my projects again if they keep up with this sh*t.
