Chris Brown says he feels like ‘a caged animal’ in jail

BAD boy R&B artist Chris Brown doesn’t seem to like prison too much, speaking on the phone about his brief time behind bars.

TMZ is reporting that Brown has said he feels like a “caged animal” and that his time in jail has been “the worst experience in my life”.

Spending his time behind bars working out and writing music, he has said he will “never f*** up again”.

Fortunately for Brown, he has enough cash to get himself out of jail pretty soon, with the R&B star negotiating to pay off his assault victim to make the case go away.

Brown got sentenced to a month in jail last week after being arrested when he got kicked out of rehab for breaking three internal rules. One of these being “stay at least two feet away from every woman,” a rule that was broken after he was seen touching a woman’s elbow and hand.

Brown was meant to be staying in rehab while the judge decided whether or not he broke his probation from the famous Rihanna case.

Once the judge got word that he had been kicked out, Brown was immediately arrested.

Dangote draws Nigeria, France into 'cement war' in Senegal

Its shimmering azure chimney stacks towering into the sky, the latest cement works launched by Africa's richest man lies idle in a Senegalese meadow - stopped in its tracks by legal action and cut-throat competition in a rapidly growing industry.
Nigerian industrialist Aliko Dangote's cement business has been flourishing elsewhere in Africa and the Senegalese project, first conceived four years ago, was due to start production in June.
But the west African nation's government is being taken to a regional arbitration court in Ivory Coast by French manufacturer Vicat, which claims that the plant represents a "distortion of competition" in a country where the market is already saturated.
"This is the first time in the history of Senegal that we have seen a plant built in violation of all the rules," said Boubacar Camara, president of Sococim, a Senegalese subsidiary of Vicat.
Dangote, 56, made his first fortune in Nigeria more than three decades ago when he started trading commodities with a loan from his uncle.
His cement business is the jewel in the crown of the Dangote Group, the largest industrial conglomerate in west Africa according to Forbes magazine, which describes Dangote variously as "the richest black person in the world" or "Africa's richest man", with a personal fortune of $25 billion.
He has been expanding his empire outside of Nigeria in recent years - Dangote Cement now has operations in 15 African countries - but the Senegal project and the court case aiming to stop it may come to represent a frustrating inability to leverage his influence across the entire continent.
4,000 jobs
"A cement plant is dangerous, you need permits, prior authorisation and you also have to conduct an environmental impact study. That hasn't been done," Camara told AFP.
The water-cooling technology involved in the $630 million plant would require a daily withdrawal of 4,500 cubic metres of groundwater, a precious commodity in an arid Sahelian country like Senegal, according to Camara.
"It's a race against the clock. Once production begins, it will be much more difficult to intervene," Camara told AFP.
"Given the conditions in which he has installed his plant, Dangote could come and set whatever prices he likes."
Dangote has said the operation would create 4,000 jobs and, in any case, the state has no power to oppose it, a source close to the Senegalese Ministry of Mines told AFP.
"Initially, there was were certain procedural irregularities that Dangote fixed," said the source, adding that "the main problem was the environmental impact".
French President Francois Holland wrote to his Senegalese counterpart Macky Sall in January about the plant "in order to raise awareness of the difficulties faced by Sococim", according to a source in the Senegalese presidency.
Sall responded to the effect that "the rule of law and the Senegalese courts" would must be allowed to decide whether the project could go ahead, the source told AFP.
Welcomed with open arms
It is not the first time that the controversial project has run into problems.
Senegalese courts ruled during construction that it encroached on a sacred forest owned by the descendents of Cheikh Amadou Bamba, a Sufi Muslim mystic and religious leader who was revered by millions of Senegalese.
Construction was only allowed to recommence when Dangote offered the family a persuasive $12.6 million in compensation.
Villagers in Galene, the tiny settlement on the doorstep of the cement works 50 kilometres (30 miles) from Dakar, say it has been installed on land once used by thousands of farmers and their animals.
"We fear that it is going to stop us growing and raising our animals," said Oumy Ba, the village chief.
Community leader Bougouma Thiongane said however that the project had been "welcomed with open arms".
Galane and the surrounding villages have no electricity or tap water and Dangote promised to change that, while also raising employment prospects for every young person in the area, Thiongane said.
The plant, one of the largest in Africa, will be ready to begin operating "within 90 days", Aramine Mbacke, the CEO of Dangote Senegal, told Financial Afrik magazine earlier this month.
It will produce three million tonnes of cement annually, three-fifths of which will go onto the local market, he said.
The operation is being launched amid increased competition between Sococim, which has a 65 percent market share, and Ciments du Sahel, which makes up the rest.
"Both plants already have a combined capacity of six million tonnes for a market of two million tonnes. They produce below capacity. That explains the reason for this war," an official from the Ministry of Mines said.
"In the sub-region, everyone wants to make cement," he added.
The management of Dangote Senegal declined to comment.

Bowen University students riot due to increase in fees and lack of adequate facilities (photos)

Quick Update: The management of Bowen University this morning closed the school indefinitely following students' protest last night. All students have been asked to leave the university while some students who were detained last night after the riot are yet to be released.

 Our previous report:
Some students of Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State staged a not-too-peaceful protest yesterday to express their displeasure over epileptic power and inadequate water supply which have been plaguing the university for some time now.

The Students razed down buildings, smashed cars and caused mayhem all over the university campus.

A student who craved anonymity narrated the incidence to Loladeville "This issue has been going on for some time now, in fact, it started during the tenure of the last VC but it wasn't as bad as this, this new VC made it worse. At times they'll supply light for just few hours especially in the morning, it's just so annoying and painful. We pay over N400, 000 as school fees yet we don't enjoy all the basic amenities a private university should have. It's not just fair...They take the light by 8am, and bring it back by 8pm and it goes off by 11pm again. We don't have water, no socket light, while our lecturers are in AC offices and cars. We have time table for eating. 7-9am for breakfast, 12-3 for lunch and 6-8 for dinner. Most times we have classes during these periods"

Didn't you make formal complaints? "Yes we did but it's been story upon story. Nothing has really been done."

Heard some places were razed down, "Sadly it was, it took a dramatic dimension, we didn't know it was going to escalate to this level. It just shows the level of frustration that has set in. The boys left their hostels for the temporary site and burnt some stuffs down. That's all I can say for now."

They had to use tear gas  to stop the protest!

"We have injuries too" Thousands of NIS Applicants besiege National Hospitals (Photos)

Barely 24 hours after President Goodluck Jonathan announced automatic employment for injured applicants during the just concluded recruitment exercise of the Nigeria Immigration Service; no fewer than 200 applicants have reportedly stormed the National Hospital, Abuja, seeking to be registered as beneficiaries in the presidential munificence.

Applicants had been trooping into the National Hospital, claiming that they had treated themselves at certain private hospitals after the Saturday’s stampede.

A dependable source, who does not want his name mentioned disclosed that some of the applicants claimed that since the federal government was going to rely on the medical records from the hospital, they also needed the medical certificate to be considered for the automatic jobs.

The source said, “There is a deep problem in the land and people are becoming more desperate. This is sheer wickedness. Can you imagine a situation where some people are now claiming that they sustained injuries during the stampede and treated themselves in private hospitals and now need money since government has said that it will pay the medical bills?

“Incidentally, federal government is yet to make any funds available to us as we treated the victims without collecting any amount from them.

“Some of them are even claiming that they are related to the dead victims, saying that they are ready to take the three slots earmarked for the deceased. It will also interest you that some of them brought lawyers that will file legal action against government and claim compensation on their behalf.

“There was this pregnant woman who refused to be persuaded on the grounds that she must be given automatic employment or she would remain in the hospital. We had to use diplomacy before she agreed to leave.”

"How Celebrating Wedding Anniversaries Has Made Our Marriage Stronger" - Myne Writman

Myne Whitman is a writer, editor, publisher andbloggerShe is the author of two romance novels, both of which rose to the top ofAmazon.com bestseller lists for romantic fiction within their first few months of being self-published.
She is happily married to her best friend and they marked their fifth wedding anniversary recently.

She posted the beautiful message below on her blog a few hours ago:

Atala and I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary on Valentine's day back in February. It was a couple of weeks after I returned from my 3months stint in Nigeria, and I remember leaving some threads hanging loose and a few people asking me to extend my stay for a couple more weeks so I could tie them all up neatly before returning to the United States. I told them plainly, not gonna happen. I care a lot about succeeding in my business and will make allowances on how it would affect my time with Atala and thus our relationship, but my wedding anniversary is very important to me.

It all started on our first wedding anniversary. We had followed the tradition I found out while getting ready for the wedding, that the top tier of the cake is often kept and is brought out by the couple on their first wedding anniversary. That sounded great to me. None of my previous relationships had ever crossed the one year mark and here I was getting married at over 30 after having thought all the while that I would never find "the one".  So though I knew I really loved him, I was still scared that my short tolerance fuse would blow and I would want out sooner rather than later.

So as we set out to our honeymoon, the top tier of the cake remained in the freezer. Atala travelled back to the US with it, and I joined him a couple of weeks later. Living together as man and wife is no cake walk, but we remained loved up even after we had those deep discussions that follow big blowouts. Our cake continued chilling in the freezer. A week to our one year anniversary, I was like wow, we made it!

For the first anniversary, I printed out new personalized wedding vows - the bishop who officiated our wedding used the generic ones - and we pledged them to each other. We ate our cake, and a tradition was born. We would always mark our wedding anniversaries. And I tell you, it has made our marriage stronger and healthier.

There are a lot of jokes abour one spouse or the other forgetting their wedding anniversary; but I take them really as jokes. Really, who would forget. If you set the date and got married that day, surely it is worth remembering. For us, Valentine's Day is a distraction but it also deepens our feelings of love on that day. It is also a time for us to think of our original vows, and if necessary, make new ones that are in keeping with the growth and development of our marriage.

Anniversaries are great for spending quality time with your partner. If possible you both need to discuss how the marriage is treating you both thus far and if you need to rekindle the fire of your romantic relationship. This is really important where the burdens of life are pushing you away from each other. Gifts are not imperative but they are great as a way to show appreciation of all the love, care, and joys received from one another, as well as the acceptance and encouragement given in other aspects of life.

For our fifth wedding anniversary, one of the things we did was to take some commemorative studio pictures and I've shared some of them below.

We say congrats to the happy couple!

Emeka Ike dumps German wife, splits their Kids and runs off to Abuja

Emeka Ike is in the News again and this time it doesn't have to do with his school but his wife, Emma and four kids, Michael,  Kelly,  Jason  and Andrea - family.

Emeka Ike wife n kids
Last year KFB exclusively told y'all of how the Nollywood actor beats up his wife (HERE).
Well, she has finally left him for good and the reasons for this action has to do with anger management.

This is coming in weeks after he was sent packing by his landlord after owing him house rent for over three years.

SDK reports that Emeka Ike took  two of the kids with him to Abuja while the wife is left with the other two in Lagos.
"To say she and her two kids are going through hell is an understatement. I am pained that he would subject her to such a degrading level of existence and go free. There have been allegations also that there is a lot of spousal abuse going on but I cannot out-rightly say that because the woman has not come out herself to cry out. It is a pity that some men are babies and use children as scape goats to carry out revenge against their spouses…hisses!" she wrote.
 Oh well...Emeka Ike!

GEJ to refund N1,000 fee to Immigration Job seekers, New Recruitment Exe
