We’ll end Boko Haram violence in April -Defence chief

The new Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshal
Alex Badeh, has assured the country that the military will bring the Boko Haram insurgency in the country to an end by April this year.

He said it was mandatory for the military to eliminate the menace of Boko Haram in the next four months in order to avert a constitutional problem in the polity.

Badeh gave the assurance while taking over as the new Chief of Defence Staff from his predecessor, Admiral Ola Ibrahim, in Abuja on Monday. He said it was not the plan of the current Defence chiefs to go to the Senate to lobby for confirmation. The CDS said it was possible to bring the insurgency in the North East to  an end if the military approached its security responsibilities cohesively.

Kanye West Presents His New A.P.C. Collection! Admits To Being A Fashion Victim!

Kanye West is not giving up on his fashion career!Despite receiving poor and mixed reviews for his past collections, the rapper is going forward on another collection with A.P.C.And why not?
His first one was a resounding success!Yeezy presented his new collection to a group of fashion editors and bloggers in Paris on Sunday, and, as we've come to expect, he had a lot of quotable moments as well!Get the HIGHlights …AFTER THE JUMP!!!

On how he got his fashion education:

"I wanted to go to Central Saint Martins, but Louise Goldin said that I was too famous. So I basically had to learn my clothes through Style.com, through like Scott [Schuman] The Sartorialist, Tommy Ton, and dudes shopping. And luckily, I was rich enough to make mistakes and learn by like just being a fashion victim—which I definitely have been a fashion victim—and to flip it from fashion victim to maybe a fashion icon, to actually a person who can give an opinion, and that's what I'm in the process of doing. So I just want everyone to be patient with me as we go on this journey."

What do you think about this fashion?

Bring your nerves of steel if you plan on spending a night in this former military prison. Used by the Nazis and Soviets, the prison walls still depict the graffiti of former prisoners which makes for chilling bedtime reading, and guests will have company in the form of the ghost of a woman who hung herself after learning her fiancé was executed here.

1. The Stanley, Colorado, USA

This creepy hotel inspired one of the greatest horror novels of all time, The Shining. Legend has it that when Stephen King and his wife stayed here, they briefly left their hotel room only to return and find their suitcases unpacked and their things stowed away in the closets. Guests at the hotel include the ghost of a woman who froze to death in the basement, and the building’s former owner F.O. Stanley roams the halls supervising the hotel from beyond the grave.

Kim & Kanye may be in trouble.

We reported earlier that Kim Kardashian had claimed her life had been threatened by the teen who apparently called her a "n****r lover" before Kanye West allegedly beat him up.

However, according to a source, as of yet no one else has stepped forward saying they heard the threat:

“[T]here are no witnesses that can substantiate Kim’s claims that heard the threat. Kim hasn’t filed an official police report yet, but it will be very interesting if she does, because cops want to question her about what she saw and heard when Kanye entered the office, and allegedly began hitting him. If Kim was in such fear for her life, why did she call her fiancee and not the cops?

She could have — and should have — done that instead of Kanye seeking some sort of vigilante justice.”Hmm, if her life had been threatened you'd think someone was Bound 2corroborate this story!

Meanwhile Yeezy might not be getting off easy, especially since he's now under investigation for felony assault and battery.

However, Kanye was just seen walking around the streets of Paris yesterday!

Aside from enjoying the City of All of the Lights, is he trying to avoid getting locked up too? We'll see how all this legal drama unfolds, but the lack of witnesses to verify Kim's claim is not auspicious.

Founder of gay church in Nigeria, writes letter on Gay Rights.

Reverend Rowland Jide Macaulay, is the founder of the Nigerian church for the gay - House Of Rainbow Fellowship. Here's a letter he sent Vanguard yesterday, describing the new Nigerian anti-gay law as one of the harshest laws in the world, adding that the LGBT-community now lives in fear of arrest and violence. He also dropped some advice for the remaining gay people in Nigeria.

On January 7th, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan signed the Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Bill 2013 into law. The law bans same sex marriage, and through its wording, also seeks to criminalise people, organisations and agencies who support homosexuality and those who do not immediately report any known homosexuals, or homosexual activities.
Since January12th, when the announcement was made, the LGBT community has been thrown into panic. There is chaos throughout Nigeria as we are grappling with keeping up with mass arbitrary arrest, humiliation, blackmail, extortion and police corruption in
several ‘charge and bail’ cases.
The hostility in Nigeria against gay people has reached epic proportions. In the East of Nigeria, many are fleeing their homes. One gay man, labelled “a leader of the homosexual” is on the run. His parents and brother were threatened with arrest if they don’t provide information about his whereabouts. In the same region, more than six people were arrested.
In the West of the country, we can confirm that nearly ten people have been arrested and bailed. The police have extorted funds from each victim at an average of between $120 to $300. Most of the people arrested were tortured and asked to provide additional details of other gays or lesbians.
In the North of Nigeria, in Bauchi and Kano, there are two separate cases of arrests and harassment of gay people. Both areas are firmly under sharia law, which carries the death penalty. In the wake of the passing of the anti gay laws, there is no doubt of the many calls, emails and online messages we have received, expressing fear, anger, anxiety and suicide attempts.
This is a critical time for all LGBTI people; a time when our ideals are being stretched and tested. The Nigerian President and legislators have ignored the critical aspect of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and passed into law a legislation that is unjust.
In a BBC Radio program yesterday, I spoke out to condemn this law. However, a few of the speakers claimed that a research showed that 98% of Nigerians are happy and jubilant about this law, and based on their religious beliefs that homosexuality is “unafrican”, against religion and unnatural.
Nigeria like many African nations, has many issues and the oppression of LGBT-citizens is largely unwelcomed by an already marginalised group. We are now looking into our first priority intervention to help those displaced and or attacked.
In view of the present situation in Nigeria, we are helping with emergency evacuation to safe homes around the country. The Initiative for Equal Rights (TIERs), a Human Rights Organisation in Nigeria, has now opened a 24hr support line for LGBT-people in Nigeria. We also continue to advise all LGBT-people to stay away from trouble, not pick unknown phone numbers and sign off gay dating websites.
