The Federal Ministry of Justice is to spend N181.3m on clothing

The Federal Ministry of Justice Headquarters will spend the sum of N181.3m on uniforms and other garments in 2014, according to the budget estimates submitted to the National Assembly by Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

A copy of the proposed budget of the headquarters of the justice ministry, which was obtained by our correspondent, revealed that the sum of N181, 391,000 was allocated for “uniforms and other clothing” in 2014.

The sum is part of the total N4.7bn allocated to the Federal Ministry of Justice Headquarters in the 2014 budget proposal.

However, the nature of the “uniforms and other clothing” was not disclosed.

OZWALD BOATENG EMERGES AS WORST DRESSED MAN IN 2014.

Fashion designer Ozwald Boateng has been named the worst dressed man of 2014 by men's fashion and lifestyle magazine GQ.

GQ, in association with Mercedes-Benz, said Boateng topped the list of the worst dressed men of the year, beating off the likes of George Galloway, Aston Merrygold and Gregg Wallace.

Actor James Avery is dead.

Actor James Avery, best known for his role as Uncle Phil in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, has died, according to reports.

The 65-year-old's death was announced by Alfonso Ribeiro - who played onscreen son Carlton Banks in the 1990s hit sitcom - on his Facebook page.

He wrote: "The world has lost a truly special man. I am very saddened to say that James Avery has passed.

"Even though he played my father on TV, he was a wonderful father figure to me in life. He will be deeply missed."

TMZ.com claims the New Jersey-born star passed away after surgery for an undisclosed illness.

Avery also provided the voice of Shredder for animated series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I'm deeply saddened to say that James Avery has passed away. He was a second father to me. I will miss him greatly.

Former US 1st lady, Babara Bush has been Hospitalised.

Former US first lady Barbara Bush has been hospitalized in Houston, Texas, for treatment of a “respiratory-related issue,” a family spokesman said Tuesday.

Bush, 88, was admitted Monday at Methodist Hospital, spokesman Jim McGrath said in a written statement.

“She is in great spirits, has already received visits from her husband and family, and is receiving fantastic care,” the statement said. “Updates will be issued when warranted.”

CNN was first alerted to Bush’s hospitalization by tweets from affiliate KPRC.

Her husband, George H.W. Bush, was the 41st President of the United States. He also served as vice president for two terms under President Ronald Reagan.

Africa’s richest black man, Aliko Dangote, has sparked a frenzy on Twitter, with thousands of followers ecstatically welcoming him to the social network.

Dangote joined Twitter yesterday and as at 9 O’Clock this morning, the Nigerian business mogul had 17,888 followers – out of which some 13,200 started following him even before he made his first tweet.

Dangote, President/Chief Executive of Dangote Group and philanthropist, used his inaugural tweet to welcome everyone into the New Year and encouraged his followers to keep the conversation going.

He tweeted: “Glad to be on Twitter. Wishing you all a prosperous New Year. Stay positively committed to achieving your dreams, nothing is impossible” January 1, 2014.

Dangote, for now, is following on seven people – both individual and corporate. Rihanna causes caos in uncle's farm.

Rihanna caused chaos helping out on her uncle's farm.The 25-year-old beauty was happy to muck in with feeding pigs and chickens on the family land in Barbados, but when she began ''messing around'', several animals escaped and ''ran wild''.

A source said: ''Rihanna was happy to work with the animals but soon she started giggling and messing around.''Unfortunately because she wasn't paying attention she didn't realise a couple of the gates were left open.

''As a result some of the livestock escaped and ran wild around the farm.''It caused hours of commotion trying to round them up.''And the 'Diamonds' hitmaker left her loved ones hysterical with laughter as they witnessed her attempts to recapture some escaped pigs and chickens.

The source continued to the Daily Star newspaper: ''She even fell over a couple of times and got covered in mud - or possibly worse!''Rihanna eventually got the escaped creatures back into their pens and was quick to celebrate her exploits with her favourite tipple.The source said: ''Eventually though she got them all back in their sties and coops.''

Khloe Kardashian still 'in contact' with Lamar

Khloe Kardashian is reported to still be in "constant contact" with Lamar Odom.The Keeping up with the Kardashians star filed for divorce from the troubled sportsman - who was accused of cheating on her and being addicted to cocaine - earlier this month but is still giving him her support as he tries to stay sober.

However, friends of the former couple - who were married for four years - insist they have no plans to get back together.One insider told RadarOnline.com:

"Khloe has been in constant contact with Lamar daily since filing for divorce ... she is making sure he is taking care of responsibilities with his DUI, and meeting with his trainer.

"It's definitely a mother-son type of relationship. There will always be a lot of love there between the two, but Khloe has definitely moved on."There are zero plans for the former couple to reconcile, and both are very amicable right now, which is a good sign for the divorce. It should be quick, and no drama.

"Lamar - who recently agreed to plead no contest in a driving under the influence (DUI) charge and was put on probation for three years and ordered to attend an alcohol education class - is "thankful" for Khloe's friendship.The source said: "Lamar appreciates having Khloe in his life....he is thankful to her for making sure he is taking care of business obligations, and meeting deadlines.

The two will always be friends."
