Burna Boy storms out of the Headies award venue after loss to Sean Tizzle.

The next rated award at the Headies award comes with a brand new ride and seems to be one whom every new artist looks forward to getting for himself.

At this year's award, Sean Tizzle picked the award and got the keys to a Hyundai Tucson SUV. Shockingly, as soon as Sean Tizzle was announced as the winner, Burna Boy left the venue, telling photographers not to take photos of him.

Some industry insiders at the event were overheard saying Burna Boy deserved the award more than his fellow nominees including Sean Tizzle, Dammy Krane, Seyi Shay and Phyno.

It has also been speculated that Burna Boy didn't win the award because he is a GLO ambassador and the awards show is sponsored by a fellow telecommunications company MTN Nigeria

APC will teach PDP a bitter lesson says Rotimi Amaechi.

Governor of Rivers State and chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) would teach the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) a hard political lesson next year. He spoke at a media interaction in portharcourt.

He said: “Most of you may have known that I have since left the PDP to a better party called the All Progressives Congress because the fact remains that PDP is a drowning party. Last weekend, PDP members of the House of Assembly in Kaduna State and party officers left PDP to APC. How can party officers and members of the House of Assembly be leaving for another party if they are comfortable?

“In Zamfara State, members of the House of Assembly, who are of the PDP, have moved to the APC. Unless they (PDP) rig election or sit down and announce result, it will be a difficult call for the PDP to win this country. But that is not the reason why I left and that is not the reason why the five of us left. I can assure you that more governors will leave. They are quite uncomfortable; they need to take some shots to come out and by God’s grace, they will come.

“For me, bad governance was one of the reasons why I left the PDP. I have been shouting and the PDP does not care. But this is the first time they will care. You cannot say it’s opposition because we are gradually forming government. We have taken over House of Representatives and before March, I bet you, we will take over the Senate. Just watch out. The pressure will mount so much that you will see people move from the PDP into APC.

“For now, it is narrowing down closely on a daily basis. Watch out before March if we don’t have the numbers that we are looking for. So, you can’t call us opposition anymore because there are three arms of government and only two are electable; the executive and legislature.

Taxi driver returns $300, 000 to owner. Wow.

A poker player who left $300,000 in the back seat of a Las Vegas taxi made good on his promise this week, handing over a $10,000 reward to the honest cabbie who returned the stash.Yellow Checker Star Cab Company CEO Bill Shranko confirmed Friday that Gerardo Gamboa had been paid by the poker player. The cab company also honored the driver’s good deed by naming him employee of the year, awarding him $1,000 and giving him a gift certificate to a Las Vegas steakhouse. It’s unclear how Gamboa plans to spend the belated Christmas gift. He did not immediately return a call from The Associated Press on Friday. The tale, was first reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, started Monday when Gamboa made a pickup at the Bellagio casino. A hotel doorman noticed a brown paper bag on the back seat and handed it to him; Gamboa thought it was candy. The driver said he had another passenger by the time he began wondering what kind of chocolates were in the brown paper bag. He peeked inside at a traffic light and spotted the cash.“I told my passenger, ‘You are my witness on this,’” the 13-year taxi driver told the Las Vegas Sun, “and then I immediately called my dispatcher.”Gamboa took the six bundles of $100 bills to the company’s main office, where Las Vegas police and casino officials linked it to the poker player. It took several hours to verify the identity of the owner and return the cash. Authorities aren’t identifying the poker player. Before he learned about the anonymous gambler’s gift, Gamboa said he wasn’t in it for the money.“If he doesn’t give me anything, that’s OK,” Gamboa told the Sun earlier this week. “I’m not waiting for any kind of return. I just wanted to do the right thing, and I appreciate what the company did for me.”AP

Shoking: Davido admits that his Track "Skelewu" is a Juju thing.

Is it that Davido has become superstitious? Going by the comments he has made about his hit song, ‘Skelewu’, he said Skelewu is a spiritual and juju thing because of the misfortune that has happened to the two music directors who directed the music video. The two directors have lost their fathers after the release of the music they directed separately. We are aware that the shooting of the visuals of Skelewu was nothing less than controversial, but being a Juju thing?

Davido tweeted, “Skelewu”is spiritual and Juju tins.’

Let us take you to the sad stories of these directors, Sesan Ogunro Snr, the father of Sesan was shot by armed robbers as he returned from the Christmas Carol with his family, while Moe Musa’s dad died after a horrific gas explosion in his Kitchen.

Now, to the drama of the shooting of the movie, it was indeed a beef sort of thing between Davido and Moe Musa who produced the first video of the single.

Davido, really?

Ace comedienne Princess' seven months old marriage crashes.

The seven-month union between ace female humour merchant, Oluwadamilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess, and Adeshola Jeremiah has crashed as the chubby comedienne said they split due to “irreconcilable differences”.
It was learnt that the marriage had not been a bed of roses as both parties had been having incessant fights, which necessitated family and friends intervening on several occasions.

Princess, a graduate of Theatre Arts from the University of Lagos, got married on May 8, 2013.  She earlier confirmed the split to an online entertainment site, thenet.ng.

She also confirmed the story.

Princess said, “It is true, my marriage has ended. We got married in May. We tried to work it out but we couldn’t.

“It happened a while ago. It is not easy for a marriage to end. All the excitement of marriage has passed. We wanted to keep it out of the public for a while.”

She continued “People have been calling me since. I opened up about this at an event yesterday. It wasn’t a case of domestic abuse. We just had irreconcilable differences. Nobody wants her marriage to crash. I am the one in the spotlight, I didn’t think it was a news I should broadcast. But eventually, I had to open up. God knows best, He would strengthen me. It is better to try than not to try at all.

“Now, I even use it as a joke. People who call me should also tell me they have a job for me and not to call me and cry and ask how it happened.”

The news from the stables of the humour merchant is coming barely days to the New Year.

A few days to her wedding, the happy and proud bride had  written  on one of her social media accounts that her hubby was coming to wipe off the shame of her life.

First Lady of Nigeria blasts Governor Akpabio.

Governor Godswill Akpabio is one of the governors believed to be close to President Goodluck Jonathan in the political calculation of 2015, but those who know what is really going on are saying that Akpabio is also one of those on Jonathan's 1,000 political watch list that ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo exposed.
As you read this, the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party as a result of President Jonathan’s second term ambition may have claimed another casualty. The latest, according to an inside source, is the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Godswill Akpabio, as his secret ambition has finally come out open. Inside sources within the nation’s seat of power informed THE INK newspaper that Nigeria’s first lady and wife of the President, Dame Patience Jonathan descended ferociously on Akpabio at the Presidential Villa in Abuja recently, accusing him of being a cog in the wheel of the process to resolve the crisis in the PDP. According to the source, a visibly angry Patience Jonathan shouted at the Governor and asked him why he is busy deceiving her husband, President Jonathan. She was said to have told Governor Akpabio point blank that he should stop masquerading himself before her husband as a peacemaker and concentrate on his now revealed Vice Presidential ambition. Reports reaching the First Lady, the source continued, have confirmed that Governor Akpabio’s treachery and pursuit of his Vice Presidential ambition is responsible for the failure of the reconciliation process in the party and one of the reasons the G7 Governors have ditched the party. It was further revealed that the First Lady accused the Governor of being on a mission to destroy Jonathan for his selfish interest. She is said to have cited Akpabio’s recent spate of private visits to leading traditional rulers and politicians in the North and other parts of Nigeria. The President’s wife is said to have told the Governor that she was aware that Akpabio is working for his own ambition while pretending to be working for the re-election of the President. The source who spoke on strict confidentiality said that a visibly embarrassed Akpabio was dumbfounded and broke down in tears.

Ol boy see gist.

Sammie Okposo renounces membership of COSON. Why now?

Sammie Okposo, may have renounced his membership of the Copyright Society of Nigeria, barely two weeks after he criticized the National Broadcasting Commission for its failure to reach an agreement with the collecting society.

A public statement made available to the media on Thursday indicates that the award winning artiste and Glo ambassador requested COSON to stop collecting royalties and acting on his behalf with immediate effect.

“I, Sammie Okposo, a proud Nigerian artiste wishes to notify the general public and all stakeholders alike that I have stopped being a member of COSON,” the statement quoted the singer as saying.

The statement reads, “The registration of COSON is commendable and may have set the Industry on the path to growth and consolidation but accountability and transparency is very important. My facts reveal that there is nothing in COSON’s constitution that limits the number of terms the Chairman of the Board could serve and this is extremely dangerous. I read Onyeka Onwenu’s interview and she cited it as one of the reasons she left the board of COSON. All effort must be made to ensure COSON does not end up the property of one man. COSON is now delving into awards and competitive activities that are not related to its core responsibilities and this is a distraction”.

According to the statement, Okposo chose to part ways with the organization because of what he described as the “selfish interests” of some of its members.

“Our artistes must get their due respect and recognition. The organization needs to imbibe the art of transparency in the disbursement of funds. How do you disburse royalty payments without showing the artistes the logs? It’s unacceptable. This issue must also be looked into with a view to ensuring that monies collected actually go to deserving artistes,” he was quoted as saying.

Okposo finally called on the Federal Government to beam its search lights on the activities of such organisations through the enactment and implementation of laws and oversight function.
