Liz Benson returns to Nollywood after 15 years

Veteran Nollywood actress Liz Benson will return to the silver screen after an almost 14 year absence in Orode Okpu-Uduaghan’s "Living Funeral"

The actress decided to take the script because it x-rays the scrouge of breast cancer, and her participating in the movie was a way of showing support in creating awareness, as the movie project is part of Orode’s Pink Pearl Breast Cancer Foundation.

Benson who was popular in the 90s and early 2000s left the movie industry after becoming an evangelist, she married Bishop Great Emeya in 2009.

Hollywood actress regrets shaking hands with President GEJ at World Economic forum

American actress and activist Goldie Hawn came under fire on Saturday 25th January 2014 after posting a photo on Twitter about meeting President GEJ at the World Economic Forum.

She had tweeted “Met the WONDERFUL president of Nigeria today at the World Economic Forum” but had to delete the tweet after it caused an uproar.

She was condemned for shaking hands with an “anti-gay president’.She apologized and then revealed she “had no idea” about the same sex bill in Nigeria, while also noting she “literally hadn’t looked at the news”. “It breaks my heart because I have my own personal feelings about this.

This is man’s inhumanity to man of the first order. It’s more than ridiculous, it’s barbaric.” she said.

Kelly Rowland to perform at Darey’s ‘Love Like a Movie’ concert

American musician Kelly Rowland is this 2014 celebrity  guest at  Darey’s ‘Love Like a Movie concert’ tagged, "The love roller coaster!"

This was announced by Darey’s production company, livespot Productions.

The former Destiny’s Child singer will make her second trip to Nigeria for the concert which holds on Saturday February 15, 2014 at Eko Hotel and Suites, Ocean view Grounds in Lagos.

Rowland first came to Nigeria seven years ago for the THISDAY Music Festival.

Kim Kardashian was the special guest for 2013.

Grammys: Femi Kuti snubbed for the fourth time

Local music legend Femi Kuti has once again lost out on a Grammy Award after a fourth consecutive nomination.

Kuti was nominated in the Best World Music Album Category and was one of four Nigerian acts to be nominated for a Grammy.

The award was shared by France’s Gipsy Kings and South Africa’s Ladysmith Black Mambazo.Kuti was not in attendance at the ceremony as he was outspoken over his numerous unrewarded nominations.
